August 11th.
We left Blind River about 8:00am. for our crossing to Drummond Island Mi.(appox.45 miles). The sun was bright and hot, the water was as smooth as we have seen. It is good to be alive.
Got into Drummond to get customs clearance and it was much easier than we had anticipated and not quite like all of the horror stories we had heard. They didn't even look in the boat, they just stood on the outside and looked at our passports and that was that. ( I could have smuggled in all kinds of Canadian beef !!)
