Here we are at mile 0.0 on the Illinois River, good thing we added 20 gallons of fuel in Beardstown, because it gave us a safety margin of two gallons.
We have been 327 miles since leaving Chicago.
We are now at the beginning of our trip down the Mississippi River.
We will stay here over the weekend to celebrate Dave's BIG BIRTHDAY !
We will be travelling 218 miles south on the Mississippi to the Ohio River. Only two locks on this stretch of river.
