How lucky are we? The last two locks on the Illinois River to go through are "wicket dams". This means that in high water, and it is high from the flooding two weeks ago, we are able to go over the dam and not go through the locks. They just simply lower the wickets at the side of the lock and we go right through. This is so cool! Waiting for the locks is very boring, although I'm able to knit a little.
