Monday, August 27th.
We left early on Monday morning and headed to Saugatuck Michigan.
It is a lovely place that is quite touristy. Lots of art shops, t-shirt shops and of course lots of ice-cream shops. Stayed at a very expensive, (the worst !) marina. They didn't even have wi-fi or t.v. cable for the price, but we did enjoy the sights along the water.
They have a very unique hand cranked ferry boat that takes you across the water, it cuts off about a 3 mile walk around the town. The lucky kid that has this for a summer job ! I'm sure he has arms of steel. The chain lays on the bottom of the river and is picked up as he cranks the handle and it slowly moves across the water. It works great and has been since 1838 !
