August 18th.
After three days in Mackinac Island we left early this morning for Lake Michigan. The winds were from the south at 5 to 10 mph. and we had a great ride to Charlevoix Michigan. It was 63 miles and we see the landscape change from rock to sand dunes. The water is a clear emerald color. This is a beautiful place (honey I want to live here !)
Charlevoix is on a small lake called Round Lake. The homes and boat houses are huge and impressive. The marina is under construction but what they have done so far is pretty nice. The floating docks are a nice change over the high ones in Mackinac.
Boating under the Mackinac Bridge was a hoot. We are having such a great time and are so thankful everyday. I think we'll keep going to see what other wonderful things are ahead.
